- Heat a dry skillet over medium-high heat. Add the dried peppers and toast them until they become fragrant, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn them.
- Remove the stems and seeds from the peppers and discard them.
- Add the honey and the toasted peppers to a small saucepan.
- Heat the honey and peppers over medium-low heat for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to boil the honey.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
- Strain the honey through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean jar or bottle. Discard the peppers.
- Seal the jar or bottle and store the hot honey at room temperature.
Expiry: 2-3 months
Make sure to use a dry, clean, sterilized jar or bottle to store the hot honey. Avoid introducing any moisture into the honey, as this can cause it to spoil.
Toasting the dried peppers first helps to enhance their flavor and aroma. It also helps to bring out the oils in the peppers, which will infuse better into the honey.
