a little bit about the recipe
Granny smith apple rings dipped into a donut style pumpkin spice batter, pan fried and coated in pumpkin spice sugar. These are a family favorite in my house, so delicious and perfect way to celebrate all things fall. Thanks to @ selefina for the perfectly curated pumpkin spice.

directions
  • Heat a deep, heavy bottom pot filled with 1-2 inches of oil, on med heat while you prepare your apple ring batter.

  • In a medium bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, pumpkin spice and sugar.

  • Add your buttermilk and egg to the flour mixture, stir until combined.

  • In a separate bowl, mix together the pumpkin spice + sugar for the topping and set aside.

  • Dip your apple slices into the batter, allowing excess to drip before placing into heated oil. Allow to cook 4-6 minutes, flipping half way through.

  • Remove apples from oil, place on paper towels to absorb extra oil before dipping and dousing them in pumpkin spice sugar.

  • Eat while warm.
