The idea of adding a pat of butter to your morning coffee may be new to you but it’s a practice enjoyed by Tibetan shepherds for thousands of years, albeit more commonly in the form of yak butter tea. In Singapore, the beverage is known as nanyang coffee, and has become popular among Western enthusiasts of the Paleo lifestyle. Remarkably, the oils in the butter do not separate and float to the top, resulting in a rich, creamy latte-like drink.
