This Holiday Rush Glögg has all the flavors of the holiday season in a shortcut form. This is a time-modified version of Classic Glögg recipes that reduces the hours-long steep, and omits the nut and dried fruit embellishments found in traditional formulas.

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and heat gently. Simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cover; let steep for 5 minutes. Strain off the spices and reserve the warm glogg into a mug. Garnish with orange and/or apple slices.
Choose a medium bodied red wine with deep fruit flavor for this recipe, such as Merlot, Cabernet or Zinfandel.
Don't simmer or boil the glögg for extended periods. This will evaporate the alcohol.
