Whole fennel seed has a mild licorice flavor. Its woodsy pungency and anise-like sweetness can be added to savory or sweet dishes.

Multi-dimensional in flavor, this single spice is redolent of a mix of spices including clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, and juniper.
